My point isn’t directed at you, but so frustrating that he’s been getting a free ride until recently.

if you play 100 games for your team and everyone is still as unsure of what position you play, it usually means you’re not showing what you can do.

Is he a box to box? Defensive midfielder? Number 10? No one knows, because he hasn’t shown enough anywhere to suggest if.

but when the dust settles he’s a millionaire, who’ll be able to tell his kids he’s actually captained Everton... somehow!

I'm not going to include Delph or Gbamin, because what's the point?

For any manager, this is quite frankly, an appaling set of players to be able to choose from to field a competitive PŁ midfield. The fact we have managed to even get safe, is quite frankly, a miracle.

For a start, it will be impossible to replace all these players in 1 window. Financial limitations as well as logistical. And some of them will be nearly impossible to shift.

But of all those listed, the only ones I believe that are worth keeping, when factoring in wages, contribution, attitude, age, ability, effectiveness, value and potential for Ancelotti to mould into something moving forward, would be Gordon 1st, and Davies would be 2nd. Gomes I'm still undecided on. I could go either way. He obviously has some quality, and I would be interested to see what Ancelotti could do with him if he found a place for him or the right partner. But its a worry, and if we could get anything approaching what we paid for him, I think we'd have a decision to make.

But with Davies, like I said before, he should be, and probably is, way down the list of priorities to get rid of. He's getting it with both barrels at the moment because we are poor, fatigued and have minimal options to mix it up, and he is an easy target. But there are much bigger problems, and drains on our resources than him.

I do think a loan would do him good though.

What I find most amazing about Davies is that I can’t make an argument for a single thing he’s good at. Like he genuinely has no footballing skills or traits that he’s remotely above average at. Even some of the worst players I’ve seen play for Everton, I could pick out at least one positive attribute they had. I truly can’t name one for Davies.

Came through our academy and is young that's what's saved him. Nice kid he is Championship level though.

Cleverley was a far more useful player yet was binned far sooner because he didn't have a mad fashion sense. That is literally the only reason anyone has liked Davies the past 2 years. Embarrassing.

Genuinely can't stand the sight of him. I just really wish he wasn't a scouser because he'd have been punted about two years ago. The lad is an embarrassment to the shirt, absolutely woeful and nowhere near the quality needed. He's about a fifth of that fearless player we saw THREE years ago. The fact he has gone backwards so badly speaks volumes about how professional he is - - but one look on social media is enough to prove that anyway. He's more concerned about little shopping trips to New York to buy a new anorak or handbag than knuckling down and sorting himself out. The day can't come quick enough for him to leave us

He offers absolutely nothing. Can’t tackle, can’t pass, can’t shoot.

That pass to Digne from 10 yards away when he passed it out of play sums him up.

I think it was the derby last year when that little turd Robertson fouled him and was laughing in his face, Davies patted him on the arse. Imagine Peter Reid doing that.

He’s been mismanaged, playing with senior pros who don’t care and don’t show any leadership or positive influence.
The trend in the team seems to be let’s just get through the game.
I think a years loan out overseas in a specific position, eg in centre of midfield will bring back his confidence, concentration on the game and technical ability. Plus get out of ‘dodge’ for a while.
He shouldn’t be in the team, but obviously a manager of Carlos stature thinks differently or has no other option.

Nah, not buying it. Even without that he's supposed to be a young, hungry and passionate local lad and yet he jogs about looking not arsed the entire game. Hasn't improved or kicked on at all since making his debut and will be nothing more than an OK squad player here in the future. He's just not good and that's fine, not every player can make it at the top.
