Some absolute melts in here.

State of you “grown men” is embarrassing.

He’s played under several woeful managers. He’s played with even worse players.

He hasn’t been as good as we all thought he would be, but I’d take him over the two crabs in Sig & Gomes any day. He’s not a lost cause.

Taking personal swipes at him for his dress sense or his social media posts.

Absolute states of you. Proper small man syndrome.
I agree with your sentiments on Davies, but Gomes is not a crab. His foot literally fell off last November ffs

Tom....for what it's worth lad,I hope you live a long and prosperous life brother. Peace be with you✌️

It's a curious case. 4 years ago he was being invited to join the full England squad on a training session, almost before many of us had heard of him. He then scored THAT goal when we rolled City over 4-0, and the world was at his feet. What has happened to that player? Is he still in there?

I would keep him. We have just bought a new midfield of some of the most experienced of their type and style in the world (James, Allan). But they're 29 and will only have a few good seasons left. What Davies could learn from Allan in the next 2 seasons could set him up, at the age of 24/25, to be our next midfield anchor for years beyond.

For me he needs a season long loan somewhere he is likely to play every game. Either a newly promoted team or a Championship team. I think there is a player in there but he never gets a run of games because he's not quite at the level we need.

I’m with you.
He’s not become what we expected (he might get there yet btw, particularly if he has a change of club).
But people read too much into his dress sense and assume he’s not taking football seriously.
I don’t understand his dress sense either, but I’m 39 and I’m not meant to. I’m well out of that loop.
same way I don’t get stormzy. it’s not for me, I had other scenes and fashions and music.
its not a reflection on his professionalism.
He’s played lots of games and has been played by a number of managers. They’ve all seen something.
He needs a break from the club, away from over expectant fans and given space to get better with less pressure.
We need better, we don’t have the luxury of seeing if he can develop but he’s a kid whose been asked to play regularly in a midfield that hasn’t been functioning at all. In the back drop of fans calling him rubbish and having a go. He’s 22.
he’s got more bottle than most.

He's not going to go on loan to the Championship when he's got a multi million pound contract while watching from the stands and can keep living with his mum.
