Right, he's value for wages and the kind of guy that champions have in the side. He doesn't have the players surrounding him that champion sides have.

He's never a guy that you want playing in a crucial match - look at how Fernandes crossed him up in that switch off with Digne to create the space for the goal from outside the box. He's not going to shut down elite attackers.

What he can do is soak minutes as a rotation player. Put him in there with a pair of solid midfielders and he's fine for 90 against most opponents; you bring him on for 30 minutes in a won game because he's not going to gift goals to the opposition, or at the end of a match hopelessly lost beyond recovery. He's a team player and a hard worker. You never feel like he's not giving his all.

Champion sides have guys like that. You do not want 23 Galacticos in the dressing room. It explodes from the force of clashing egos.

You also don't win anything with ten injured Galacticos and 13 squad players. The squad players are forced to perform roles they can't handle, and you fail to win with sides fully capable of winning.

We had a few back in the day when we could flex our muscles against anyone. Alan harper the most obvious but there were others. Neil adams. Kevin langley. Id throw in possibly kevin richardson but probably unfair as he was a very good player in his own right.
But like you say. Only being carried by better players to do a job when required.
Tbh ive only replied to this so i could post about an Everton team who were not a shower of sh!te. Its good therapy for a few seconds.

I think he will go in the Summer.

If the RS can get £23 million for Brewster, Tom has to be worth £30 million!

(only joking of course)

What was he supposed to finish? The header from past the penalty spot?
Should have scissor kicked for the goal thats what I did "hattrick hero" back in the day like. Get it just correct either wing cross the ball into any player on edge of box, 18 goals easy every match. Football easy. The lad is a pony.

Those stats are most impressive and I've love to have him here, but does he own a skateboard? If not that's a hard pass.
And Adam Jones on the echo podcast thought Davies played very well the other night. On that basis bissouma must have put in the greatest midfield performance in history.

Getting a hard listen now that podcast. I understand the reason, but don’t say a bad word about anyone. Just hear prenno taking about kenwright, it’s cringe worthy

Are you a masochist? because that does sound excruciating. They really said tom Davies had a good game? That's absurd he was mediocre at best. I used to read the echo but I try avoid it now, especially after O'keefe left. Still trying to forget all those kenwright puff pieces.

I don’t read the echo, but do listen to the echo pod occasionally. Gav buckland is on it sometimes. And he talks sense most of the time
