I'd rather see consistent play in the middle of the park in terms of winning balls, tackles, dribbles, completing passes etc., a golazo once in a while doesn't prove much... but let's see what he can do this season. Cautiously optimistic.

In 2 years he'll be 24.
Hes not really a late developer, he's been highly regarded for years but constantly changing coaching staff has probably knocked him back.
He hasn't kicked on as we'd hoped from the 17/18 Yr old that burst on the scene but hopefully now we've got a proper manager in charge he can continue to improve and be a valuable squad member.
Also be nice to see the same people who hated DCL eat their words again.

You're right, he's not a 'late developer' it's normal, the 18-21 y o players who are somehow making it in first teams are the exception. If he's an influential midfielder between 24-32 years of age, that's brilliant!

You're right, he's not a 'late developer' it's normal, the 18-21 y o players who are somehow making it in first teams are the exception. If he's an influential midfielder between 24-32 years of age, that's brilliant!

Centre halves, midfielders and centre forwards to an extent rarely come good before 24-5 years of age. Occasionally you get players with certain atribrutes that will get in good teams earlier but they'll always ending up making more mistakes.
