To be fair they probably keep tabs on any teenager that ends up making an appearance in the top division across any top league.

That's true and probably in a lot more detail than we know, just thought it was funny there was a click article generated straight after he scored.

Everton boss Koeman content 'good boy' Tom Davies will keep feet on the ground

Ronald Koeman is confident Everton youngster Tom Davies will remain grounded despite his rapid rise - and avoid becoming a “big man”.

The 18-year-old produced a man-of-the-match performance against Manchester City last weekend which he capped off by scoring the Blues’ third goal.

Davies has shot to nationwide prominence on the back of the display yet Koeman believes the West Derby lad - a player he describes as a “good boy” - can cope with the huge increase in attention.

“We can’t control everything,” Koeman said.

“I don’t know what he is doing when he leaves Finch Farm. I don’t know.

“I don’t know if the family or friends take him every day on their shoulders and that he is the big man then we get a problem because finally he will think that he is really that.

“He is a good boy and what we can control we do. The rest is up to the player.

“If we think in sessions and in his work every day he is starting to get sloppy then we do something but I don’t think that is question for him because he is a hard-working boy and player.

“I don’t have any problem with that.”

And Koeman insists he would not look to build a network of ‘spies’ like former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson did to keep an eye on his young guns .

“Normally with all the social media if somebody is doing something wrong we will know it,” he said.

“It’s freedom, what we expect and what I expect as a manager is that everyone is really professional.

“It is life, enjoy your life but every day to be ready for training to improve and develop. That is the most important thing.

"We don’t control our players.”
