Probably because he is still a kid and the position he plays is occupied by Gueye and Barry.

I like the look of him but we need to remember we have only seen him in a handful of first team games.

So what you have seen of Cleverley punches his weight that much. I agree on Gueye and Barry by the way. We need some youthful exhuberance especially in this game.

The bench is not being utilised properly with the likes of cleverley and Valencia having berths on it. Davies for cleverley and dowell for Valencia would not only give us more exuberance but also quality IMO.

Maybe so but we really don't know that. I assume the manager who sees them every day knows if they are ready or not. He did include them in pre season so its not like he hasnt had a look at them. he may think that its better for their progression to have them in an Under 23 team that is currently doing well rather than dropping them into his team right now that is struggling a bit.

People go on about managers not wanting to give youth a chance (it has been levelled at Koeman in the past) but I find it hard to beleive that any manager thinks that way as its their job on the line. If he thinks they are ready then I have no doubt that he would be picking them.

I feel people are getting too excited over this guy too soon. He's had hardly any game time and whilst he's looked promising it's kinda mad to expect him to be starting games ahead of any of the current midfielders.

There really hasn't been one player this season who has stood up and taken accord of themselves. Mirallas, Bolasie, Gerard and Barkley have all been found wanting so far. Even Barry is starting to really show his age. Why not give Davies a shot?

Don't know why, but this seems like Martinez' second season so far. Everyone is very average to below average so far.
