Martinez himself said back in January that he liked Ince a lot, and I'm wondering if somethings been arranged for the summer. We obviously couldn't bring him in on loan as our quote was full, so maybe rather than buy him we made it clear to him we'd be in for him on a free in the summer?

I think he's keeping his options open and I believe Everton are one of his options.
 
I think he could more trouble than he is worth, the sacking of his dad has left him with a big chip on his shoulder. He possibly could have an attitude problem.

Possibly?

I think he is now well balanced as he had a chip on his shoulder before but now has one on both shoulders.

Doubt Palace would let him go on a free, mate.
