Saw the Mout the other day in Sporting's 1-1 draw with Nacional. First half he was more or less in an inside right position, and He wasn't doing much. Second half, Matias Fernandez came on as a sub and Mout moved back to his more natural position and started to pull the strings together with 'Matigol'. Maybe we could swap Fellaini for Moutinho and Fernandez.

Yes last season whenever he played on the wing he wasnt very effective, but in the middle hes a puppet master.

It'd be a waste signing him and pushing him outwide. He's a talented player but Joao Moutinho is more of a passer, someone who dictates and keeps things ticking over. He doesn't really have Deco's technique, guile, dribbling ability or flair.

It’d be closer to Manchester Utd pushing Paul Scholes to the left or Arsenal playing Fabregas on the right. They’d do a job but it isn’t there natural game at all. Moutinho would probably be more successful than the other two as he’s more mobile.

Ever Banega would probably be better suited to playing outwide for us, as would Mikel Arteta. Both players, despite being deep lying playmakers (naturally) have an abundance of technique, flair and imagination on the ball, both players are excellent at wrong footing opposition players despite having average pace.

This is by no means having a dig at Moutinho, he’s a quality player and I was impressed with him yesterday. He’s just not what we need in terms of style, not outwide anyway. I certainly wouldn’t say no to him though!

well thank god that you lads are playing in the europa cup tomorrow otherwise tonight would have been a battlefield seeing we should have been playing everton tonight :o

cant believe that itv are showing Panathinaikos v Athleico Madrid.

ffs a champions league playoff game involving 2 teams of no interest whatsoever really.

now that is footy at saturation point on the box.

i'd rather watch a non league game from over here tbh.

Result, Burnley 1, Man U 0

Burnley deserved it, defended well once they got in front. Burnley keeper Jensen looks good, sick of hearing Martin Tyler call him the Beast though.
Moysie was at the game
