Tony Book RIP

Glasshalffull

Player Valuation: £10m
I know this is not a directly Everton issue, but Tony Book both reminds me of times back in the day, and epitomises the type of Everton player that I've always appreciated. He was past his physical best at Citeh, but still contributed massively and gave his all for them. He was like loads of our players, especially under Moyes - Barry being the foremost in my opinion.

Anyway, much appreciation and respect from me. A pity that football, especially Everton, can't have more of these guys.

….ah sad news, he always looked an old bloke even when he was playing. Good memories of watching him.

I have it in mind that our own @alan ball told me a story of when he tried to speak to Colin Bell for his Goodison Memories book and I think Tony Book was ‘involved’ in the discussion

Good team he played in, with Summerbee, Bell, Corrigan, Franny Lee etc.

Good player. The old Maine Road years. RIP Tony.

RIP Tony Book...

A good mate of mine who's a City fan sent me this... Tony Book gave me a lasting memory when he told Steve Heighway, "make me look daft again and you'll end up on Row Z"
Two minutes later Heighway left him for dead and two minutes after that he tried it again and the Bookster absolutely hoisted him into the Kemlyn Road Stand... Heighway never went near him again 🤣🤣
