Tony Hibbert

Think he will play in the next Derby and break the Sewer Rat in half , then he will ride off into the Sunset and be a Hero for evermore, the perfect ending, ah beautiful.

the lost points one assumes playing with 10 men for 89 minutes would be worth so many more than they would lose from his absence over the rest of the season - then again they might have sold The Rat to Juve or some other top side by then.

Think if we made Europe with the bigger squads needed giving him another year would make sense. If no European football, I really don't see hibbo getting anywhere near the first 11 unless there was a massive injury crisis.

He's no modern day FB and IMO is behind both Coleman and stones. How many RB's do we realistically need?

Think he'd do a job for almost every team below 8th. Hell would even make Southampton's D better than it already is too.

Deulofeu has something of the Hibbert about him.

Maybe that's where he is now, in the number 10 shirt with an intricately-constructed false identity. Freed from the burden of being Tony Hibbert, he's playing like a 19 year old Spaniard.

i did hear he always did boss stepovers in training with a baseball, something messi would have been proud of.

He'll be looking after his carp fishery full time post-retirement surely?

Still think there's a couple of boss slidey's in him yet mind.

How does Oviedo who has hardly play for us score a goal from the full back position yet Hibbert still hasnt managed a single goal?

Always imagined he'd go out with an immense sliding tackle, finishing up unconscious with one leg either side of a post. Goodison rising as one to salute the best last-ditch tackler we've ever had as he's stretchered off to be humanely destroyed.

Something like that.

No just let him Retire gracefully - no more hangers on please we cannot afford it! he has been well paid over the years and we have kept him too long imo!

apparently he is great to have in the dressing room, teaches all the youngsters all things everton. far from a hanger on. hes been vital for the great team spirit we have in the team.
