With this and the Distin/Jagz thread, you'd think we were on the brink of relegation.

People need to look at our start objectively and without their blue tinted specs on. Even if we get beat off Chelsea i dont think there is a great need to panic. Its early doors. Same number of points as at this time last year and look how that worked out !!!

Discussing something and panicking are not the same thing.

I raised what I think is a valid point and several of the responses have been with good insight. On a wet Sunday in the delta of the rio de la plata, that does fine for me as I have no one to run my thoughts by otherwise.

Panic - a biting recession, 40% inflation and a general strike on Thursday. I will leave the panic for my day to day existence.

I like Barry and McCarthy but I think they sit too deep, which becomes a problem when Barkley isn't available.

Osman had some good moments yesterday but can't carry the ball fast enough. Martinez needs to find another attacking option in centre midfield before the window closes.

It's impossible to replace that quality of Barkley's but the problem would be solved if we play Besic however then it becomes difficult to place Naismith in the side unless we put Lukaku out right because I'm not a big fan of Naismith there.

I like seeing young players with potential in the team, ive always promoted that.

Hibbert / Alcaraz / Distin / Barry / Pienaar / Osman /Kone

Ignoring their abilities, they will need replacing.

Almost spot on.

Apart from Barry. He's absolutely class despite his age. Leaving Kone out until he plays a full season and can be officially called tosh.

Hibbert, Alcaraz, Distin, Osman, Pienaar. I'd throw Jags in there too.
