Top 10 Goal keepers in the EPL

I'm lazy, so I'm just going to give a top 5.

Reina
Given
VDS
Cech
Hart
Howard

(had to give a sixth to get our lad in there)

How Cech is in anybody's top 8 is beyond me. He was once the best in the world but he's not the same player since his skull was rearragned. He freaks when there is any kind of potential contact. He's an average at best keeper now.

1. Reina - most consistent, maybe the best ever at stopping penalties
2. Gomes - had the best season of any GK last year. Spurs always could score on anybody, GK always let them down. He's the reason why Spurs finished 4th. Granted it was only one season so Reina is still No.1.
3. VDS - a couple years ago (the year he almost blew the C-league for Utd) he wouldn't be in my top 10 but he's rebounded nicely

4. Howard
5. Jaaskleien
6. Swartzer
7. Hart
8. Friedel
9. James
10. Given

4-8 are pretty interchangable and very little difference in talent, it depends on your preferences. I wouldn't put Hart in the top 3 yet. He had the luxury of playing with a defence on Brum which was rarely out of position. That won't happen at City or England so we'll get a better idea how good he is in the WC and at City next year. Swartzer was supposed to be on the downswing but like Hart has an organized defense in front of him as well and its helped out his career immensely. James is the best keeper in the world and the worst keeper in world sometimes in the same minute of a match. Not to high on Given anymore, thought he was average this year.

For a start, NEVER say 'EPL' as short for the Premier League, sounds way too American, just say the PREM. Oh, and 10 would be:

1) Given
2) Reina
3) Van Der Sar
4) Cech
5) Hart
6) Friedel
7) Howard
8) Gomes
9) Schwarzer
10) Green

I'm going to be honest, between 4th-9th on my list it's really tight and on their day any of those keepers can be absolutely fantastic and on another day they're capable of some outrageous howlers. You could probably put them in any order 4-9th and it'd still be relatively accurate, I ranked them based on how I felt they'd performed over the course of the season.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really rate Reina as one of the top five goalkeepers in the Premiership.

1. van der Sar
2. Given
3. Howard
4. Gomes
5. Hart
6. Cech
7. Jaaskelainen
8. Reina
9. Green
10. Friedel

Hart and Gomes have the potential to become one of the very best, but Howard in third because of those blue tinted specs I'm wearing.

Should you not have your orange tinted ones on right now?
