@barneygumble If Arsenal win Europa dont think it affects league placings think its still the top 4 + them in CL next season its only if CL winner also wasnt in top 7 that it would affect league placing with 4th spot losing out on CL with 7th missing Europe.

UEFA changed it a few seasons back, that the maximum amount of teams from any country could be 7.

So should Arsenal win the Europa, the lowest ranked European spot from England (which is now going to be 7th) would miss out entirely.

England would not submit an entrant to the Conference League.

There are no scenarios now, where if we were to finish 4th, we’d miss out on the CL.

Clear as mud, I’m aware, but only way we definitely guarantee Europe is 6th place or higher as it stands.

IF Arsenal and Chelsea both win in Europe then 4th misses out on CL 1,2,3 Chelsea Arsenal in CL

To be honest, completely forgot about Chelsea, as they're a lock for me, but yes.

That would be how we end up with 5 CL teams, but Chelsea winning the CL shouldn't impact our season too much.

The domesday scenario is if (and in fairness it's an absolutely massive if) Everton finish 4th and Chelsea finish 5th, then both Chelsea and Arsenal go on to win their UEFA competitions, they both go in next season CL and we'd miss out. If just one of them win this years competition, then 4th place will still qualify.

Lets hope Villarreal do the business then!

Cant stand Arsenal totally undeserved if they get CL off a spawny EL campaign.

That's the disaster scenario.

But equally, we've got everything in our own hands, and personally Arsenal will be our biggest risk, but will they be strong enough to beat Man Utd in a final? I'm not so sure.

But feet are firmly grounded, even with Chelsea and Leicester's run in, i'm focussing on Conference League, and anything better is a bonus.

I wouldn't be so optimistic about them, and pin your hopes on United or Roma... the latter of which would scare the life out of me.

Villarreal haven't really faced any tests so far in Europa (played powerhouses of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Qarabag, Sivasspor, Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb and then Dynamo Kyiv), and are very inconsistent. Prove me wrong mind.

Don't forget our uncanny ability to snatch defeat from success whenever other results go our way

Oh that's why I'm refusing to get carried away. The bonus for us, is we've got away games left, and we're seemingly playing Villa twice without Grealish, but we will Everton this up, it's the only way.
