I spent a summer preparing the meals. It was crap.
Was you working within the airport itself? I bet it was rotten. Loads of happy people going on their jols and you, yes you, working there and counting the hours to get out of the forsaken place.

Nah, some big warehouse thing away from the tourist action. Treated like sh*t, we were. £1.59 an hour. Double time on Sundays, like. Not a happy experience but there was plenty of overtime so it enabled me to pay off my student overdraft in ten weeks. And who can say that these days?
Viva airport working.
Give us the low down on them airport meals. I want the gore man.

A seriously dull tale, my friend. Basically, though, all the meals are put together by two companies (well, they were in the late eighties) - the different airlines just give different specs. Dan-Air were the worst in those days. The BA Singapore flight was seriously mouthwatering (but I worked on crews' meals, not passengers).
Cabin crew girls are amongst of the finest specimens of pretty grot this life can offer.

You never set eyes on them when you put the meals together. You're in a different postcode. I remember hearing that the baggage handlers were on a good screw.
Too bad there. Minimum wage would be tolerable if you had free access to them types.
