Tottenham vs Everton

Well, finally watched the highlights. WOW! We did it all right. Got our luck, played well took most of our chances. I felt AJ could have had a couple if it weren't for Robinson! Arteta sparkles, Osman did great, Lescott had a great game, Stubbs solid (if only he got his second goal.....!).

We played some smart stuff on the ground, and Moyes was spot on tactically for this one.

What can you say? Absolutely superb. I'll be back on tommorow to give a long assessment, but at 4:30 I can't be bothered right now, having celebrated all night.
I hope you all have a great day tommorow. I know I will. Never a dull moment as a blue. This ranks as one of my better ones.
COYBB!!

Welcome back RBJ!!!! Great way to kick the new season off eh? 6 points from 6, 5 goals for, 2 against and sitting atop the league. Lets keep it up eh ;)

and more firepower seems to be on the way :o
Brilliant performance last night we were the better team all over the pitch arteta, carsley,aj an lescott magnificent and ossie superb this is ossies season i still reckon he will get into the england squad later on in the season.

No connection at home, hence the late verdict on the game.

It was my first sight of EFC in the new season and they really did'nt disappoint! Overall we seem to be impossible to break down, and in Arteta we have one of the five most gifted players in the league.

Howard: I expect him to save more or less everything when shots are coming at him. It is the standard that he has set himself and vs. Spurs he did the business again.

Hibbert: IMO the weak link in the defense, no doubting his commitment, but his ability is lacking. He should take a look at Chimbonda to see a right back on the top of his game.

Yobo: So calm and yet can burst into life in seconds, seems more and more assured and will be our captain within a few years.

Stubbs: Our very own Captain Marvel, as someone posted after the Wigan game "he will have a lot of say for this season". No pace but everything else intact - great to see him score.

Lescott: Will have impressed McClown, and should get a call up. He is continuing at the same level as last year and Baines will have quite a fight on his hands to dislodge him.

Carsley: What is this guy on? He continues to huff and puff at the opposition and his distribution is quite good. Whenever a Spurs player shot Carsley was there to block. Incredible!

Neville: Well his is better suited at Right Back. He is however good and communicating with the players and you can see that Moyes values him as a captain. I would however consider the £4 m. offer from Newcastle if it comes.

Arteta: What can I say but WAUW! While Cars irritates the opposition with his terrier-like play Arteta does it with his skill. I can't remember him losing the ball once, half of our free kicks most have come from Arteta being brought down.

Osman: So small but yet so dangerous. Looks to be enjoying the role in the team he has and has certainly taken his chance. Get goal and good overall link-up play with Johnson. He can however not last a full game.

Johnson: Unlucky not to scor as Robinson suddenly realized that a goalie can actually try and save the ball. Looks short of confidence but not of determination. Him and Anichebe is not always working on the same level.

Anichebe: I'm sorry to say but he is not a PL striker. He has a bad attitude and a horrible first touch. Not once did he win a header and to top it of he was short of air 20 minutes into the second half. Most be a let down for him and Osman to see Cars continueing to clock up 90 min. without losing breath.

Every time I try and watch the streaming another tab opens with the words 'Event Fired'.

What the [Poor language removed] this means I dont know, so download it is. Then watch on the bog on my laptop when Im curling one out.

Euphemism: this is [Poor language removed]

What a result! I dont think we could have asked for better. There would have been some serious problems in White Hart Lane had Johnson made it 4-1 at the end. Anyways, I'll take 3-1 anyday against anyone! 5 goals in 2 games, not too shabby and with the Yak partnering AJ ... we could see a goal feast this year that has been lacking for a long long time ...

Absolutely fantastic! If we're being honest, at times in the first half we were awful, just before spurs scored we were embarasingly awful, couldnt even win the ball back, but that just shows the team we are, we fought back took our chances, and by the end, we should have won by more than 3-1.

AJ, Arteta, Howard, Lescott, Stubbs and Yobo were magnificent

I must say, the few seconds that Jag's was on the park he did not look too shabby. A few neat touches...I'm loving the new competition for places in the squad. At least now we have some quality on the bench as well.

Have to disagree a bit with you on Anichebe. He won loads of headers for us upfront and made a nuisense of himself upfront hasseling the defenders. I agree that he does not have the 1st touch we would like him to have but hey, he's only 19 and playing with the big boys...

yes, i agree with you about anichebe, davidsr. he is only 19 and does not look ready to lead the line. i think a yak bid will in a strange way help anichebes development. we really don't want burn out from a good looking prospect.
