My sisters husband was from Bootle and he took me down and around the docks where he worked. As a kid I’d only ever really seen the ferry landing stage and it was a real eye opener to see all the ships in the various docks. That was 60 years ago mind….

One of the better Everton friendly pubs there good place to watch the match,,can't remember the name though.

In the 60s Everton would play a preseason cricket game there. I ended up playing a few games for Bootle Cricket clubs football team. Oddly most of the lads there were from Gerard Gardens.

Gerard Gardens, now there’s a name from the past, that and Fontenoy Gardens….nothing to do with Bootle mind…..

That was arranged by Brian Harris, who played for Bootle Cricket Club. Used to walk from Kirkdale (Langtry Road) to watch. They played at Wadham Road, if I remember correctly...

Buddies some are trying too hard aren’t we? There’s healthier ways to deal with the closure of certain forum sections being company amongst other Enochs.

Come now, relax and it shall return.

….had an office in St Martin’s House for a few years which was very civilised with Tamarillo’s bacon butty shop & Cat and Fiddle Pub on the bottom floor.
