Doesn't sound too good - I was out so didn't see the game. I know it's only pre-season but it seems like we played a lot of senior players and first team players and weren't exactly convincing.

I worry about Barry, he's a year older and now he has his final contract will he be able to maintain his level from last year. I have to be honest while I was delighted we got him last year I wasn't happy we resigned him. I hope I'll be proved wrong.

So you worry about a performance you didn't see and about a player who's performance you'll think will drop with no evidence of that actually happening?

It was a pre season match. The result and performance were irrelevant. The worrying thing is it highlights what we already know, we need one or two strikers in quick. If we get them we'll be OK, if we don't then questions need to be asked of the board.
 
Why are people still scremaing shoot when Hibbert gets the ball?.. Granted it was funny, the first time, maybe even the second. But it's been going on for a couple of years now and it's just annoying more than anything.

Kids being kids (idiots) I can understand, but grown men? Jesus wept.
 
Echo says Coleman was taken off as a precaution, so could've been worse there.

And it's only the first pre-season game - no fume needed. :)
 

Just got back. Decent little work out for the lads. Thought McAleny was quite ace on the ball in the first half hour or so. Garbutt very decent, Geads looking good too, Gibson good.

Hilarious train journey back to Liverpool too with the rest of the Evertonians too.
 
like has been said the CB is a position that looks okay but could do with a replacement for distin coming in as alcaraz isn't good enough and stones isn't the finished product yet. De Vrij would have been excellent business

When the commentators were doing shout outs from Twitter some bloke called Ledson or his last name may have been Ledson said he was on the couch with a raptured achilles but he was still watching th game, or something along those lines. So the commentators weren't actually talking about our boy Ryan.
 
I think some are getting far too hung up about the result! Its only pre-season. There was a time when we won most of our pre-season matches and started the season atrociously.

It doesn't really mean anything, its just about getting them playing somewhat competitive matches again. Thought it was a decent run out and not too much can be gleamed from it other than it was a help in increasing match fitness.
