What do Wirral people think of this talk about Tranmere moving? I know plenty on GOT live on the Wirral and have been to Prenton Park, i used to love going when i was younger and they played Friday night games, when only two sides of the stadium were open.
Last time i went was the Watford game in the FA Cup, which was fun but i wasnt exactly inspired to go back to another game since we missed the kickoff trying to get in.
I can see a lot of similarities to our move, both stadiums on old dockland disued for many years being the obvious one.
What i do think is good for them is the area they plan on moving to it right alongside the end of the motorway approach road from the M53, a train station is less then 1000 yards or so away and its very easy access to the Mersey road tunnel. Also the area has no pubs or anything so they can build some and have that income too, seems like a great idea too me

These two screen grabs are the same scale for size comparison, one showing Prenton Park and one showing the land available at Bidston, basically inbetween the two bodies of water

Like you I used to go and watch Rovers on a Friday night though I haven't been to see them now for over 40 years.
If it will benefit the club then I'm all for it, but first I've heard of it tbh.

The lack of pubs would be a major issue, but transport links are great.

Is this next to Bidston tip? By the roundabout going into Poulton?
What train station is near to there? Are you talking about Birkenhead North? Thats abit of a hike?

There's a station at Bidston on the West Kirby Line.

it's literally right nextdoor to the tip

the location would be a definite downgrade imo

Bidston one is half hour walk away.
Just looked it up though to answer my own qestion.
Birkenehad North is a 10 minute walk away
I think it could be done faster than 30 mins. there are marked walking routes behind the retail park / Bidston moss that mean you don't have to take the road. I walk round there a lot and there are better routes than the one illustrated eg on Google maps

not ideal being next to the tip though!
