Stoke City are eyeing Sporting Lisbon winger Andre Carrillo as a replacement target for Inter Milan’s Xherdan Shaqiri.
The Potters had a bid accepted by the Nerazzurri for Shaqiri earlier this month, but the player himself rejected the opportunity to move to the Britannia Stadium.
While Stoke have not given up hope of a U-turn on Shaqiri's part, they are also looking at other options should they fail to land the former Bayern Munich winger.
According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, the Potters have identified Sporting Lisbon winger Carrillo as a target should their attempts to sign Shaqiri fail.
The Peru international joined the Portuguese outfit in 2011 and has established himself as an integral part of their squad at the Jose Alvalade.
He features on a regular basis at Sporting Lisbon and scored seven goals and provided 18 assists to his team-mates in his 46 appearances in all competitions last season.
The 24-year-old is also a Peru international and has earned 13 caps for his country.
Carrillo only has a year left on his contract with the club and as such could be available for the Potters this summer.
