Having watched Sergi Roberto in the International Champions Cup today, I don't think his best position is behind the striker.

He doesn't really look like a defensive midfielder either. He is more like a deep lying playmaker who starts attacks really.

With a really good range of passing, he also looks to make forward runs a bit.

The way Barca set up in the midfield was:

I just thought I would scout him a bit for the one game so definitely don't take anything I say as gospel.

Watched it as well (love to watch Barca!) and he is similar to Barkley I reckon.
Saying that, I would still be happy to have him as an option as long as we could afford.
