Traumatic Films

Jaws & It - Still won't swim in the ocean and have to concentrate on my breathing around clowns.

Communion was a good one too, but didn't leave any long-term issues - just scared the [Poor language removed] out of me at the time... Never been bothered by the Disney ones, I guess they set out to teach kids to deal with loss and difficult circumstances rather than set out to traumatise them.

The one with the manky rabbits.

I honestly can't remember what it's called and it doesn't warrant opening a new window and looking on Google.

The one with Bright Eyes (the horrid song not the good band) as the theme.

And lots of dead rabbits.

i am legend when will smith has to kill sam his dog cause she's been bitten by the zombies things.
one rule in films don't kill dogs or kids.
also kill bill vol one. uma therman kills the black woman off in front of her daughter then challenges her to revenge when she's old enough.

and lastly, gloria leaving billy hoyle (woody harrelson) in white men can't jump at the end cos he wants to play one final hustle. heartbreaking stuff.

watershipdown gets my vote for disturbing but essential viewing. in fact i bought it for my brothers kids as they needed the same traumatic childhood experience i had.

i've actually read the book as well. it's pretty depressing stuff.

That's the one I couldnt remember, with the manky rabbits.

Someone bought it for my little girl last year, needless to say I threw it straight in the bin.

I still think The Never Ending Story has the worst animal/pet death scene ever. It ruined the whole film for me. Even hearing Limahl singing the theme tune gets me welling up.
