Travel to Europe

Me and the Mrs are planning spending a year in Europe next year. Now that my UK passport is no longer any use (thanks @peteblue ) It seems I have to apply for a one year visa. Does anyone have any experience of doing this and can guide me as to the process?

I don't want the 90/180 day visa as we will be staying for well over 3 months, but apparently there are longer term ones available?

Any help greatly appreciated

It doesn’t allow him free access to dwell and work across the EU zone, thanks to many thick, bigoted British voters mate.

My Irish Passport allows me to do this.

Can you do a border run via Gibraltar (or a country outside of shengen) to refresh the 90 day visa?

Getting a German passport was one of teh best things I ever did. Even better than when my UK one was an EU passport. I'm in Schengen now so often when I travel not only can I avoid long queues, but I don't go through any passport control at all

Not really, I can only do 90 days in a 6 month period, will want to spend most of my time in EU / Schengen countries

What sort of people would want to deny themselves this privilege mate? Sounds like an act of self sabotage. The mind boggles.
