Troy deeney

No way. I don't think he's much of a leader. I can't get over his refusal post lockdown when he insisted that playing football was putting his life and his families at risk. He set a bad example to his team and despite Watford's promising position pre-lockdown, Troy Deeney's attitude contributed in no small part to their relegation i believe.

I wouldn't have to. Aldi workers know they are key workers and footballers aren't.
That's a valid technicality, except that it fails to recognise the disparity of safety between the two groups.

Store workers exposed to the public for their entire shifts were safe?

Footballers cocooned by latest medical science, protocols, safeguards and the public banned from attending matches, were not safe?

Troy Deeney made them comments before people really knew what was going on. And he finally decided that it was safe to return to training and so ended up doing so. I say fairplay to him on that one.

Even if we accept that is true and that there was a major risk to players. Isn't it a really bad message to send to your teammates and to your opponents/rivals? .

I would be concerned in a team if one of my colleagues, that I had to rely on, said I don't feel safe. How can you trust that person's mind is on the job?

Opposition defenders must have been thinking great, Deeney's distracted. Easy afternoon ahead. It was a really unwise public remark.

Think you're failing to recognise the disparity of necessity between the two groups.
