Me and my Cat love it, but my g/f hates everything about it, mostly the smell.
I can only eat it on its own. Some sickos put it on bread and eat it.

lovely stuff.
Lash some on toast with some chopped fresh chillies and black pepper. cover in mounds of grated cheese and grill the fecker till the cheese melts and gets that nice toasty layer on.
Perfect cheee, chilli and tuna on toast.

However , out of the can , and to borrow a phrase of your own , is , indeed Sir , just plain wrong .
Warburtons best brown bread , flora pure , a tad mayo if that is your taste , and just the right amount of said Tuna . Too much and you gag . Too little and its like Paste-Butties from the Charra to Blackpool .
Croissants can also have-it , with Tuna .
However , its no Salmon .
