Tuna

Got to agree with Curly on this one. If we're talking tinned, salmon has the edge.

Vinegar and plenty of white pepper with avacado on toast. Hard to beat.

Out of the tin is just mental, sounds like something out of Bottom.

Fresh slightly-seared tuna is one of lifes pleasures. But not as good in a toasty.

Er , let's just go back to Cucumber ??

No , no , no , no , etc .
Nein . It is a tasteless , water-filled , pseudo-amusing prop for nudge-nudge pseudo-comedy routines .
It is a sin and you know it .

Cucumber sandwiches for afternoon tea on ones lawn with a cup of camomile tea is rather splendid.

Anyone remember that tv program The Camomile Lawn?

I remember being a schoolboy and enjoying the Sunday night nipple fest.

Good times.

(sorry for thread deviation)

some valid points raised
  • out of the tin is meffy, sandwich, barm, baguette, tuna salad.
  • salmon from a can is also ace, but completely different.
  • sweetcorn is crap
  • spanish pasties contain tuna (empanadillas i seem to recall)
the question that hasn't been asked thus far though is
  • oil?
  • brine?
  • springwater?

Great summary.

As for the age old question regarding preserving liquid; we always go brine as it's cheapest, but oil is better even if it makes you fat.

:lol::lol::lol:

tinned tuna's alright like, its not something I go looking in the cupboards for though. If its in brine for me it needs the mayo, in oil its good to go straight from the tin.

Tuna steaks are crap

Those scrawny bits of crap you get from Tesco, yes.

The bright red pound of flesh sliced straight from the fish on a dock however.....

I love tuna, it's my most common butty filling.

If anyone's in Crosby - go to Alexander's (not far from the Comrades), get a tuna salad baguette, no butter, all the salad with peppers & extra mayo. Thank me later, it's ******* amazing
