TV Series

Did not enjoy Haunting of Bly Manor which is a shame as I really liked Hill House. Didn't find it scary or particularly interesting. Story was a bit of a mess. Hated the kids. Some truly awful accents too and a very small but annoying use of "math" rather than "maths" from an English character.

Spent the last 3 or so episodes just clicking through them just to get through it quicker. Their reliance on gory death scenes to keep people talking about an otherwise incredibly boring plot was very noticeable as well.

On a more positive note a Band of Brothers sequel is being filmed in March

Gory death is kinda on every page of the comics.

Think @longers has got a point about them going light on the backstory for The Boys characters. The show hasn't told us much about us besides The Female's origin and a bit of Butcher's backstory I think. Nothing about Frenchie or M.M. They've shown us more about The Seven and their backgrounds than them.

To be honest I’m not sure how they could have really; we got some of Frenchie’s origin but nothing on MM. Story-wise it’s now nothing like the comics but tbh I never even thought they could have brought it into TV as it’s so unique. Some bits could be better of course but I’m just so glad they even attempted it.

Watched an episode. Like an utterly rubbish mix of Demolition Man and Westworld. All been done before, better. Tosh.

Watched it through to episode 6 thinking it was going to get better, it didn't ! not sure if I can be assed watching the last 3 episodes .
Wholeheartedly agree with your critique and like yourself, very disappointed that it was no way as scary as Hill House .

I will be honest, I made it through episode 7 and then just read the ending as I was so done by that point. Which sounds stupid given there were only two episodes left but I didn't want to waste another 2 hours. Having read about the ending I'm happy I didn't waste my time
