TV Series

Watched (well, tried to watch) that Death to 2020 last night.

It had funny moments at the start but quickly went downhill. Tried to act as though it was poking fun at everything, but really just became a bit - and I hate this term but for lack of a better one - 'woke' comedy, which is painfully unfunny.

Maybe it was just the subject matter - it's so mad you end up forgetting it's true.

Found it disappointing as well. Used to really look forward to, and enjoy, the old Screenwipe shows by Charlie Brooker. This show seems to reflect the fact that his audience (and budget) has grown via the success of Black Mirror, and it had a much stronger international feel as a result.

New season of Cobra Kai was alright but a little uneventful.

The Kreece backstory is interesting but I thought it was going to be more of a
Stolen Valour/Fake soldier type of thing rather than him being an actual POW.

Found the fan service of the trip back to Okinawa to get the cameos in and the plot convenience of the car manufacturer deal being saved really hammy but the show is what it is.

Don't like what they're doing with Kreese, when he was first introduced it was great and he played the wolf in sheep's clothing-type really well. Now he's gone back to being a typical 80s villain where he's just bad for the sake of being bad really.

They've done well to turn around Daniel Larusso though, first two seasons he came across as a massively smug a-hole and I badly wanted to see Johnny beat him up finally. Now I enjoy it whenever they team up.

Has anyone watched Equinox? Danish thing

Have you watched any of it yet ?

I’m up to episode 5 and it’s just “ okay “ .

Supposed to be a supernatural drama, but it’s like lots of other stuff welded together - a bit of the film - the Ritual, a bit of the much better Belgian drama - Black Spot and even a bit of Stranger Things.

One to watch when you run out of stuff to watch.

Nah was gonna see what folk said first. Will probs give it a miss. Trying to cut down on watching average and forgettable shows.
