TV Series

BBC 2 tonight, at 9pm - The Terror.

First showing on terrestrial tv.

Dramatisation of the attempt to find a route through the North West Passage in the Arctic, by the ill fated Franklin and the crews of the Terror and the Erebus.

One of the best things I`ve watched in recent times and somehow manages to blend the struggles of the crews to survive whilst marooned in the Arctic, whilst under attack from, what is seemingly the supernatural.

A must watch.

I'm going to give it a go. I can't work out if it's my kind of thing or not.

Yeah, watched that when it first dropped on HBO. Excellent show

I read the book first, which is brilliant, so I came into the series looking to find faults with it.

I won’t ruin it, but the series is as good as the book in every way, apart from what they’ve done with the “ supernatural element “ - which is much better in the book.

Just finished Behind Her Eyes with the missus. Was actually very good, but her friend told her there was a twist and I sussed it at around the 4th episode. I then spent the last two episodes hoping it wouldn't be the twist but alas. Still decent like, just overegged in the end by the author of the original book

Gonna watch 5 and 6 tonight. Think it's pretty rubbish so far tbh.

Got done with The Vanishing At The Cecil Hotel last night.
Too long by far and and should have been called "Internet Weirdos ruin a Mexican guy's life"

Yeah, I like the Netflix true crime range but it was v poor and it felt like they were struggling to fill up episodes. Their docs on the Yorkshire Ripper and the Nightstalker were ace though

Ah yes! I began reading the book for this but honestly had to put it down due to how grim and bleak it was page after page (ran close to 1000 pages!). Watched the first few episodes a few years back but then fell off the bandwagon, remember enjoying it so definitely going to go back for this.

Yeah they defo stretched every minute out of it. Could have been done in 2 episodes.
