A little dumbed-down for the purposes of cramming in more explosions and increasing the pace, but still entertaining. I've read a fair bit of this specific part of history and quite a lot of the plot of the show sticks fairly closely to the accounts recorded at the time.

Oddly the writers have toned Paddy Mayne down, compared to the historical accounts.

It wasn’t a classic by any stretch but good Sunday night telly.

Easy watch. Who doesn’t like things exploding and nazis getting killed.

Do enjoy this show and it does show some of the horrific people the old bill have to deal with and how messed up our prosecution service is

Caught that just, the armed gang of three get 200 hours of community service, the chap they tried burgling got a 22 month sentence. He'd never been in trouble with the law previous, they ALL had rap sheets from lands end to john o'groats. I see tonights episode as a reason to take matters into your own hands. Pathetic.

I just watched that, poor bloke

Blood boiling at the end when you look at the sentences. Even worse when I found out the two scum bags are trying to claim a million quid in compo from the guys insurance company.

Unfortunately the red mist descended on the home owner. You can understand why. But if you chase people who are clearly running away am not longer a threat, you’re on a slippery slope if it goes wrong. As seen here. What if a pedestrian was walking past and ended up being caught up in the crash?

It’s just not worth it. A lot of people saying they would do the same. But it’s easy to say that after the fact.

Just an update.

Following the programme, an absolute saint, of a member of the public, started a Gofundme page, to try and help recoup the legal fees / life savings, that the lad had used to try and defend himself from against these scumbags. ( who are now after a million in damages for their injuries )

So far, it`s up to 90K, with donations ranging from £5 - £15k

Definitely a 'homoerotic' subtext re his relationship with another soldier.

A fun series with a great anachronistic punk soundtrack.
