TV Series

Enjoying kaleidoscope. Only on our 4th episode but it’s got us both invested and brother in law has already finished it after we recommended it.

Really gripped by Happy Valley as well. Watched first 2 series over the festive period.

I’m working through Alice in Borderland but not finding it half as good as season 1 so far, not sure why.

Enjoyed the new series of archer that came onto Netflix.

Rewatching all of scrubs but listening to their podcast as well as I go. But that’s just my easy watching before bed.

Then have loads on my list on Netflix but also need to watch Andor and there’s new series of the bad batch and bobs burgers.

The first game only had implied homosexuality if memory serves, the second game (if the series gets that far, lm guessing it’ll be one series per game?) however, included homosexual relationships and a trans character. There was a fair amount of pathetic nonsense from certain quarters when it was released.
We had a former poster on here (who still lurks it seems) who had a serious issue with the trans character in the second game even though he never played it and as a result got confused over who the trans character actually was. Sadly it’s something that will always rear it’s ugly head as @coollino said.

From the reviews it sounds like they have largely been very faithful to the first game. There were a number of idiots (online, not on here) who kicked out about the casting of Pedro Pascal and Gabriel Luna as Joel and Tommy because they are Latino. So weird the way people kick off before they’ve even seen the show.

The Sandman

Thought two or three of the episodes were really good, while the rest were uneven at best. I enjoyed the episode with David Thewlis in the cafeteria, and the final episode was pretty good. All in all I can't say the show really grabbed me though.

The entire storyline with the vortex and the woman meeting her husband in a dream did very little for me. I also struggle with some of the casting. I just don't feel the need to see actors from Game of Thrones turn up in shows anymore, especially the one playing Lucifer.

Obvious nod and wink to the unsurpassable Soprano's. It is going to need to get a lot funnier, and his slow rocky drawl is wearing already. Also the 'family' don't look like they could knock over a lemonade stand.

it's building to a laugh about this, I can feel it, is Dolly gonna turn up as the head of a rival family? potential but come on... move a bit quicker...

Pedro Pascal is a top actor too, can’t think of anyone better to play Joel to be honest.

It never really becomes far fetched. It’s different in that it’s probably closer to reality than most other shows of the same genre .

I won’t give out any spoilers but I’d be interested in your take once you’re done with it.
Watched 9 episodes. 1 to go which comes out Friday on Apple. I’ve bloody loved it. Think they’ve done a really good job with it.
