TV Series

Eric - Netflix.

An easy one to overlook, but once you get past the first episode, it becomes very good.

Dominic Cumberbach excels as a nasty, New York tv puppeteer, who’s young son goes missing on the way to school and who starts to hallucinate a life size puppet, as he desperately try’s to find his son.

Even the character that Cumberbach plays is very hard to like, he will very likely win awards for this.

It’s unrelentingly bleak, as he searches for his son in the underbelly of New York, amongst the paedos, the drug dealers and homeless community.

Recommended.
Just slogged thru the first one, will stick with it tho, you're usually spot on.

Makes me laugh though, tv shows now, you can spot the box ticking right from the off. Good job im not a 'centrist' or my head would be off.

This is a really good point and makes it difficult for me to enjoy a lot of new shows. I tend to now rewatch old stuff. Perhaps in a few years it I will be so mentally adjusted to it that it won’t be a problem

I was ready to jib it after the first mate, but it gets better ( more sleazy and dark ) with each episode after that.

Crackin' restoration job from the now sadly defunct Network stable. It's not as bonkers and psychedelic as S1, they tried to take it in more of an action and less cerebral direction, still a lot of fun though.
Watching it now on the Rewind Channel.Good cast overcomes the clunky sets. The Charmer is a good series on the channel. Story of a sociopath set in the late 1930s.

Great shouts these, have watched 5 of the 9, so will watch the others as seems we have similar tastes!

Shame that Lazarus and Constellation were not renewed though, and didn’t have the endings they deserved.

Really looking forward to S3 of From though, and there are additional episodes of 3 Body Problem on the way. Hopefully Silo will be renewed and finish off what was covered in the books (which I haven’t read!).

Would also highly recommend these which are in similar vein…
