He could be a dragons den failure. On the other hand he's keeping his cards close to his chest

I'm not up on the other fixtures of sports like rugby league (Super League, when does that run from?) but couldn't, off season, the ground be put to some use? Get some revenue in the idle months mid-May to late July and lay the new pitch later than usual.

How about a player fund subscribed privately by fans?

One of the parties bidding for Newcastle this week brought up the prospect of a membership scheme a la Barcelona or Schalke 04 in order to raise revenue.

don't quite a few fans at newcastle have 20 year season tickets they bought a few years back on a money making scheme by the club. value for money now i guess! ahem.

Fascinating plan he's not telling us.

I have to smile at Bill's reply: 'It is always good to hear from
Evertonians who want to do their bit to help
stabilise the club financially'.

Yeah, or as MikelsGoat would say....'choo choo, choo choo'.

That's the funniest thing I've heard for days. Imagine the daft bastards sitting there in their barcode tops pondering 20 years of Sc unthorpe at home.

:lol::lol:

The membership thing won't solve anything but it could be useful to define who would be elegible to suscribe the fund.

Imagine that amongst evertonians fellows money can be raised for that fund. Each individual would have some sort of stock proving his contribution.

The player bought by that fund would be loaned out to the club (I'd say sold half of the rights but there is that third part ownership thing). If the player was to be sold, the revenues would be reflected on the stock. The fan could either sell it or keep it.

For the club the benefit would be to have a player on the cheap and maybe some part of a future transfer. For the fans, every year there would be the possibility of offering a player to Moyes and still make some profit.

The membership thing... well, the fund would be opened to members only.

I liked the way Bill effectively wiped his hands of more correspondence by "forwarding" the idea to Earl and Elstone.

yes, that was a few years back when they were at the top of the league for a couple of seasons.

but spare a thought for these poor beggers. to avoid a jaw dropping 10% increase on season tickets imposed by ashley last season, they could avoid any increase if they bought up for the next 3 years for no increase.

so thousands of toon fans have already got season tickets for next season at premier league prices. and if they don't get promoted this year, one more season of championship footy at pre paid premiership prices.

mike ashley.... what a cnut.

You couldn't make it up, could you?

Hopefully the fans that bought these season tickets are the same ones that hounded out Sam Allardyce. Effectively, they're responsible for Newcastle being in the Championship anyway.

But back to making money for Everton ... :D
