Tyias Browning

Maybe it would be a good idea for us to sign an older CB for cover who's played at a high level, but with still a couple of years left in him. Save a bit of money for an attacking player. By all accounts Galloway and Browning look like they're capable of playing for us within the next 12 months or so.

Him and Galloway look very promising and I think are ready to stand in for injured players. Yes there will be mistakes in them at such a young age but the experience will be priceless for there development. If any of the current back four get injured I would have no hesitation using any of them.

The more I see of him the more I like him, deserved his goal tonight, has had a really good pre-season.

I'd still like to loan him out, get a full season under his belt and play 40 games in a season just to give him that experience to improve his game. As most others are mentioning we must question whether it's necessary to go and spend quite a bit of money on a new defender when we might have one of our own blossoming.

What about the loan market could we try loaning someone like Nacho from Madrid or Jan Kirchoff from Bayern for the season?Try and find a loanee who can do what Toby Alderweireld did for Southampton last season.

When exactly is Browning going to be ready? Just interested as he's 21 now and looks pretty good whenever he plays, but people keep saying he lacks experience so he isn't good enough to be 3rd choice/on the bench.

It appears he's not going out on loan so all that will change if we sign an experienced defender is that Browning becomes 4th choice/off the bench and into the stand behind the bench.

With the addition of this new defender, if there is an injury to jags or stones browning will go from the stands to the bench. Only getting game time if there is another serious injury to a central defender. And that's while competing with Galloway!

Then when our new defender leaves/jags leaves in 2/3 years time browning will be 23/24. He'll still be pretty good but he'll still lack experience. Then we need to sign another experienced defender and the cycle repeats itself...

This whole cb subject drives me a bit mental. Browning is 21 and has 5 professional appearances to his name. It's time to see if he's good enough. I'd have him and galloway as 3rd/4th choice cbs. We could get one in jan if we are desperate.

It's time to see what the lad is made of! To be honest if I was browning and we sign another cb I'd see that as a sign from the manager ("I don't trust you and don't want you playing for everton"). I'd demand a loan/transfer to the championship and finally get my first team career going at last.

Only one of Browning or Galloway should be backup to Stones & Jagielka, not both, too risky. We need to sign a 27+yr old with experience to go along with either Tyias or Brendan. Physically, Tyias looks ready made for the Premier League, technically Galloway is ahead so its a tough choice.

Stability is one of the most important things about the centre of defence, can't be loaning one unless we're nailed on to sign them next summer.

When are either Browning or Galloway going to play then? If stones or jags get injured the 27 year old will come in at cb and all browning and galloway do is get yet more experience sitting on the bench.

The 27 year old only solves a problem if you believe browning and galloway are not good enough. I believe they are, but we will never know unless they are given a shot of at least being played if someone in the first 11 gets injured. Not being given a shot of sitting on the bench if someone in the first 11 gets injured.

Depends on how ready he feels both Browning and Galloway are, if he feels one of them can start week in week out in 16/17 then Loaning could possibly be the way forward.

Hibbert keeps on picking up knocks, think Ty has a good chance of minutes covering for Coleman who had his own injury issues last season. Not perfect as he's better as a CB but as shown in the Anfield derby he can put in a cross and has excellent pace.

When/if we get this experienced left sided CB, I'd send Galloway out for game time.

Both Alcaraz and Distin got a reasonable amount of game time last season and that was despite Jags playing almost every match.

Stability is absolutely key mate, I completely agree that's why you'd want to be loaning someone you can get a potential future fee agreed we can then sign them. It's double insurance if the loanee bosses it when then sign them but if Browning tears the Championship, and the loanee doesn't do much they go back we don't have to buy them and Browning then gets the role.
