Typing issue

I seem to have a small glitch when typing on the mobile version of the site.

Pressing return to start a new line shuts the keyboard down and I have to open it again.

Slightly annoying when typing anyway

Thought i was going mad, have come close to throwing my phone at the wall. Backspace seems to close the keypad on my phone - android using chrome browser.

EDIT- highlight the word and re type as a work around, also just noticed that same happens when hitting return.

I have Android/Chrome and it seems fine for me. Do you have adblock enabled?

No - its onky been happening for a couple of weeks, maybe three.

This happens for me, are you sure it doesn't happen elsewhere online?

I think it's a Chrome update, might be able to sort a fix...

[Edit] I've just tested on Android/Chrome on other forums like XenForo and the same thing happens. I don't believe it's an issue exclusive to this forum and anything we've done - we've not changed anything since 1st July and that was the footer, I think it's either intentional by Chrome since the update or a bug. I'll see if we can do anything to prevent it.

Around 2 weeks ago at the very most for me.

It doesn't sound like that but it could be connected? No idea. That's just it for me, return closes text box.

Fair enough. I don't use any other forums so never encountered it before. It makes sense if it's connected to other sites though.

I'm using cake browser on android phone and odd things gave just started happening with me too here. If I press delete, backspace, my keyboard disappears.

I'm using the Duck Duck Go browser, might be a chrome engine though?

Beginning yo drive me a little mad right now. Its not a distant journey ill admit. But I'm giving up on editing my posts. Or using the delete or carriage return key .

Trying this on Samsung browser (not cake or google) on android and all seems fine.

It's Google Chrome blues, they've pushed out an update and whether by design or fail, enter/return now closes any text editor. I've tried it on my phone and it happens here, and every other forum including the forums own software provider XenForo.

I've logged a support ticket to see if there's a hack to stop Chrome doing what its meant to do on Android

If anyone is using a Samsung they can fix it by using Microsoft, Google or anyone else's screen keyboard apps and remove Samsung as the default

I am using Google and its fine now if they prefer Chrome that is
