UEFA response to Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine

I hope the Poles etc still refuse to play them under any banner, and England back them up.

If the Poles are sanctioned then we walk away from the World Cup and start naming names in FIFA

Infantino is a Putin owned stooge, it's a disgrace how shocking and poor FIFA's response has been to this war. The nation associations should call for his head and the top table at FIFA to be broken up

Also, no other nation should agree to play whatever version is FIFA approved of the Russian national team - we need to make a stand on as many fronts as possible. It's not the Russian players fault but something has to be done - football is still powerful and can send a messge, we saw that over the weekend at goodison and other places, but infantino and FIFA are an absolute corrupt joke.

Better late than never.

Haven't seen the details reported yet, but I hope it is a blanket ban for any team of Russian nationality, with byes given to scheduled opponents. The idea that they could still represent their nation on a world stage but with a rebadged jersey is shameful.

Obviously the players aren't to blame for the shocking situation in Ukraine, but they've been dragged into this by their national leader. I don't see this intervention in their international sports as being any different from the sanctions brought in against their oligarchs.

What about clubs backed by those with “Russian links”.
Well those clubs in question don't represent Russia. Thank god fifa and uefa have finally done the right thing. They can take part again in international and european competition, whenever they decide to act and behave like a normal civilised country.

Their owners or sponsors do though don’t they?
