U21s losing to a senior team isn’t the headline maker you’re making out to be, they’re playing in that competition for experienceShows how pathetic we are u21s losing to bottom club in third tier. No heart in any team . PLAY FOR THE CLUB, show some pride. Training needs bringing into to the modern era.
Exactly. Is it not a very young team because we've sold our best youth players?
Wasn't it Hartlepool that we beat 6-0?U21s losing to a senior team isn’t the headline maker you’re making out to be, they’re playing in that competition for experience
Last season they lost to Morecambe (pens) and Lincoln in the competition
Season before that they lost to Carlisle and Hartlepool
2020/21 they didn’t play in it
2019/20 they lost to Crewe (pens) and Fleetwood
2018/19 they lost to Bradford (pens), Barnsley (pens) and Oldham
2017/18 they lost to Notts County, Lincoln and Mansfield
2016/17 they lost to Blackpool (pens) and Cheltenham
It’s far more embarrassing for the senior EFL sides to lose to U21 teams, as shown when ours put 6 past Burton last season and Spurs’ put 5 past Colchester last night
One of the two yeahWasn't it Hartlepool that we beat 6-0?
There’s a reason U21 sides have not made it further than the quarterfinals of the EFL Trophy since they were allowed in in 2016, they are involved purely to get the lads experience that they wouldn’t usually get with the first teamThey should be able to compete with lads who are supposed to have less skill which I don’t believe. There is a lot of talent in the lower leagues who do not consider themselves to be elite.
