I don't think the board will trust a foreign manager with no premier league experience so it's between people like Dyche, Pardew and Big Sam or Unsworth.

He doesn't play football apparently, yet I remember a Bolton side with Jay Jay Okocha and Youri Djorkaeff amongst others playing no football for him, most of it is because he is English therefore not trendy enough for the younger generation. Same as Dyche, supposedly has a very scientific approach to football but he's not from abroad so not good enough again.

It has nothing to do with the fact he isn't foreign. I didn't want Koeman and he was foreign.

The only disadvantage he has with fans is that we know exactly what we will get with him and don't want it. Ironically this disadvantage with fans is probably an advantage. People who run businesses prefer certainty even if it perhaps doesn't have as much potential.

In a way Bill going for Martinez was pretty cool for this reason however that experience scared them into hiring the Dutch Moyes.

The way I look at it is, can Sam get us to 7th where we 'should' be, of course he can. The problem we have is who can elevate us into the super group because that is the real task, it proved to much for Koeman who cracked and personally was never a great appointment to start with.

It's not easy to bridge that gap no matter who is manager, we do expect a certain level of performance and attitude however and that is missing currently and that was down to the dour attitude of the manager. We have players who can play but the difference now is man management and instilling confidence, that is the mark of a good manager in my opinion.
