I do like Wes Anderson but apart from Rushmore struggle to get that involved in his films. Quirk overload at times

I know what you mean. I'm still not sure whether I loved, or hated the Life Aquatic. But I'm sure of one thing, The film direction provoked this type of reaction. His films draw you in, drive you crazy, frustrate and thrill you all at the same time.

I think his films are flawed genius. I'm hoping this one hits all those marks as well

I think Life Aquatic was my least favourite. Darjeeling is super underrated IMO.

I enjoyed the Darjeeling too. It was very different to his usual films that play on the eccentricity of the main characters, instead it was more intimate and focused. A slow chugging train only helped to emphasise the mood.

Yeh it just felt different to the others he’s made. Less comical in nature and I felt more connected to the lives of the main chars - similar to Tenenbaums in that sense. People always seem to forget it when discussing Wes films.

I was really skeptical about Pattinson as Batman but after watching The Lighthouse I maybe need to give him more credit as an actor.

Pattinson has been great for years. High Life, Maps to the Stars, Damsel, Good Time, Cosmopolis.
