If Lawrence Fishburne turns down being Morpheus/can't afford him, don't take a random black dude and try to make him as morpheus as possible.

Missing two of the best actors/characters from the first 3. Hugo Weaving and Fishburne.

Going by form the films have gotten progressively worse in the series. Although I did like the second one.

I think the sequels spent too much time focusing on Zion, the coolest part about The Matrix is within the matrix. Pretty unlimited possibilities if they can capture the spirit of the first film.

It’s all been done now though. Would have to be something insane to make it work. The trailer looks dated already.

Granted it's not going to be ground breaking as we kind of know all the possibilities now, but if executed well it can still be visually spectacular and if they give it a more focused, narrow plot that is well scripted it could be a decent movie.

It may be none of those things as filmmakers seem to have lost the art of storytelling, but the potential is there. The big red flag of the poundshop Morpheus is a worry though.

Looks to me that the morpheus character is a young morpheus, as is the Oracle (woman in thick rimmed glasses) and the rabbit tattooed bird from Home and Away?

Well 1 was brilliant but 2 and 3 were crap so let's so the excitement is tempered.

2 and 3 are worth watching for Monica Bellucci alone.

I mean maybe it's not, but it looks similar to the older, bearded Weaving than it does to Reeves, but then who knows what the mirror is supposed to show.
