I would like to think that if 3 tits in masks came around my place and started playing games with me because it gets them off or whatever, I would shoot first and ask questions later... Doesn't always work out like that does it?

If the movie was based today and they ended up knocking on the door of some crazed right-wing, hillbilly, Trump supporter with more guns then brain cells, the movie would have been over in 10 minutes! Especially if it was based in one of those 'stand your ground' states.

Yeah looks good. But as you say, so many disappointments. Only the fantastic original (my favorite), Aliens and (sometimes) Alien 3 are the ones I re-watch.

Agreed. You only have to look at the trailer for Covenant and the utter travesty that followed.

The director’s track record is decent when it comes to visceral horror, so judging just by the teaser, it looks like it’s dispensed with the rubbish Scott was trying to bring it to, and just go back to it’s roots as a horror movie.

Funny enough I saw a trailer for this the other week and being as I had no ideas another one was due, I assumed it was a fan made effort so swerved it.

Blade Runner 2049 and the reboot of Dune ( both of them ) shows what can be done with the right people at the helm.

There`s no excuses now for getting this one wrong.

Problem with new Alien films is there's just nowhere really to go with them. Prometheus was the first interesting thing in years. Now it's just back to "oh we're stuck on a ship in space with an alien trying to kill us".

Yeh I get that but what I mean is the story can't go anywhere. All it will be is trying to give an iconic film a fresh lick of paint that won't ever top the original.

At least BR2049 is a sequel and Dune has a pretty crap original to try better.
