Usmanov

I think what people fail to realise is that we do have owners desperate to invest but they have one hand tied behind their back with ffp. So until ffp goes we are always fighting an uphill battle

This man could change the mood instantly, come on statement saying he’s in the ground and going to make sure Everton are the biggest team in the land. Well I can dream.

Anyone else pick up on these quotes from Duncan Castles last week? I always like to see national journalists confirming what some of us believe:
Castles also added that whoever is the next Everton manager will be tasked with slashing down the size of the squad left by Ancelotti, as well as building a new squad that can justify Alisher Usmanov’s investment in the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Castles added: “There’s a massive investment from Alisher Usmanov in the new stadium, in the playing staff, which still needs to be whittled down, they still need to get numbers off the squad and [reduce the] wage bill of the squad and get money into more effective areas of the team.”
Apologies if old news, been a bit off the pace

Saw that too, very interesting seeing him so openly name checked in the media like that. It seems like there were whispers when Moshiri first came in but the noise has got louder and louder and he definitely feels more like a silent partner than just a sponsor nowadays.

I always imagine Usmanov is like Jabba in Return of the Jedi, and Moshiri is his lackey who he hits and abuses when he's angry, like that guy with the swirly horns.
