Not really. He and Moshiri now have another permanent fixture on the board, which allows them to do their day jobs. Its not even unheard of. Bristol City owner Stephen Lansdown, (lives in Jersey) has his son "running" the club. Pretty sure Coates does similar at Stoke.

Chelsea owner is never even in England, but his pals run Chelsea, at his behest.

When can gaming rights on the new stadium be secured? When work begins, during the build or when it is completed? I.e. when can he give us the £100m or whatever it will be for the stadium to be named the USM arena @ BMD?

Phase 2 of build work so probably towards the end of this year but either way it will probably start this financial year which will hit the books this year.

Spurs are currently looking for a £25 million a year sponser over 10-15 years so if Usmanov does similiar thats £250-£375 million revenue that helps us FFP speaking.

He knows when to do his uncles's bidding. He also knows what side his bread is buttered on.
I just don't like it lads. I don't have any rationale why.

As someone who sits on boards and has both won and lost in the boardroom, the message here to me is simple it means one of two things.

1. If you ran your club better and didn't need to keep coming to me for money then I wouldn't need to place someone on the board to make sure you don't waste my investment. This happens all the time. I have seen banks/venture caps/equity funds all insist on placing someone on the board to protect their investment.

2. I am eventually coming for the whole thing and I want to make sure you don't make a mess of this before I am ready to move in and secure control.

Been obvious for a couple of years that he was the puppet master, but mad how we’ve basically had it soft confirmed over the last few weeks and no one’s really arsed

Stadium aside it's hardly been an era worth bigging up thus far has it?

On the pitch we've been mostly abject and lots of money has been wasted

Based purely on the football itself his stint has been an abject failure IMO

Spurs have been for 4 years trying to get a naming rights deal starting at £25 million a year before the stadium was built.

They dropped it down to £20 million and still nothing even with the NFL tie up.

Even Madrid aborted a naming rights deal for the refurbished Bernabeu.

Spurs stadium is not in as good a location as ours, and is still seen as WHL.

Real Madrid stadium is known as the Bernabeu, so will have very limited value for a rename.

Our stadium is completely different, in terms of location and naming rights.

Ultimately the market will dictate, the market has already stated someone would pay 30m for the option for naming rights, so 30m+ would seem a reasonable expectation to me. We will obviously have to see what a business is willing to pay, which is the true value.
