I'm not sure Moshiri owning 49.9% of the club with the option to increase his stake to 70-odd% (reportedly dependent on the building of the stadium) suggests the plan was for Usmanov to come in. I think we're well and truly Moshiri's club and Usmanov will do his own thing, probably buying into another (likely foreign) club, if he does want to keep investing in football clubs, that is.
The underlining worry for me is Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis is going to be the new AC Milan CEO next week according to reports,it will announced after the window closes this week.
I'm sure Gazidis and Usmanov have had lots of discussions, dinners etc in their time at Arsenal over the years.
If he goes to a foreign club the signs point to AC Milan as there has been tentative links this year with Usmanov and AC Milan, plus the gov of Italy has changed and lowered the tax system/tax rate aimed at the international film/tv industry and to entice Footballers and investment in the Italian game.
The Italian authorities want Serie A back to the 80-90's and getting the best players playing in Italy again.
The reason Ronaldo has gone to Juve is for tax reasons apparently and Modric is eyeing a move to Inter for the same reasons, foreign investment in Serie A clubs the last 12 months with the new tax laws has attracted new ownership.
AC Milan already have an iconic stadium, are one of the biggest names in football and they missed out on a CL by 6-7 points last season and it would cost a lot less to get them back to their former glories than it would us.
Lets hope i'm wrong and he ends up at our club,Moshiri's close relationship puts us at an advantage.
