Usmanov

There is the possibility that Usmanov wants to liquidate his assets in England and has no intention of reinvesting because of the political situation or just maybe because it was Arsenal or nothing for him.

On the other hand he has made a lot of money out of just 30% of the Arsenal shareholding. Arsenal are a big club but they have slipped away from the very top table in the last four or five seasons ... and are still valued at 1.8 billion, the capital gain to be made out of taking over a club and building it up is mind boggling.

It has been suggested that Usmanov could buy a club in Europe but is their the possibility of making the same gain there ?

If Usmanov does decide to get involved at Everton I don't see it happening for some time, I think the stadium issue will be decided, I think we may see a lot of the old guard already gone from the club and Moshiri firmly in charge and even more of the share capital hovered up.

I think it may be news dropped suddenly at some future date just as the decision to sell his shares in Arsenal was announced.

Of course, that doesn't mean there is no influence in the background and the sponsorship given by USM to Everton already means that he has some some involvement already.

It was like NYE on here when it all broke, now its the morning after and many have the mother of bad heads...but you did give her your number...and she seemed keen through the beer goggles
Now we wait for the phone to ring

Only for it to ring and and you be told that she doesn’t fancy you but your arch enemy across the road will be balls deep in her within hours.

Everton that.

You don't have to be very tapped up to know he's there, and so is the money he made in Arsenal shares(for now). That reverberates across the whole game.

Men with this kind of money are patient. The game is in flux, and not in a bad way for the money men. He's just biding his time before he says "I do" or walks away. One of these.

I don't know much about this guy's dealings, but is he the sort of person who would wait for a team (like us) to get in a stronger/attractive state and pay a higher price/risk being denied OR invest early and make it more profitable and thus himself richer?

I would urge patience on this. It seems "if he doesn't invest straight away he's not coming" has replaced the "nobody would ever be interested in buying his shares, he's trapped" position.

Mossier moved quickly, but that was because they were rushing to beat off the American interest. It was a little rushed and partly because of that you have seen the progress being a little slower than expected. I remember when Kenwright bought Everton it took several months to fully complete and that was seemingly after prices had been agreed etc.

The figures involved and the potential returns are far grater now. Anyone involved in any kind of business will know bigger deals take longer. I have been nowhere near a multi-million pound deal but no from my time deals that are a fraction of that do take a long time to close. If he is spending hundreds of millions and Bill is selling a similar amount, then he will likely take his time to ensure it is in place.

Frankly I'd avoid what the mainstream journalists are saying on this. David Conn on the same day said he wasn't coming but retweeted a link saying him and Moshiri work together (to then point out the article was from last year). Bascombe changed his story about 4 times in a few hours immediately within hours of the sale of Arsenal shares going through. The fact people are sticking their neck out so quickly and repeatedly changing the story is indicative of people who have little idea what is happening. I think there is also a bit of a jealousy from Conn, Bascombe and Maddock as Liverpool fans who enjoy ridiculing Everton. It doesn't mean they are well connected.

To be absolutely truthful I'd be wary of anyone saying they are ITK about this. From what I can see nobody got the timing right on yesterdays announcement. It's easy to see why as a multi-billionaire is not going to leak his intentions to journalists, never mind people who use forums. And if by some miracle he did, he would definitely not have you broadcasting it to the world all over twitter or on a forum.

Lets see how things play out, relax a little. The pessimists and naysayers never thought it would get to this point and it's gone beyond anything they ever deemed possible so we should have no truck with completely arbitrary deadlines with his decision.
