Well yes which what I am arguing. Everton are (at worst) the 4th biggest team, so would be entitled to around the 4th biggest sponsorship, to be at the point where you would expect us to be in the market.

City don't seem to be being published for the size of the deals either. They seem to be being punished for being extremely clumsy early on and then potentially lying in their accounts. There doesn't seem to be a lot of challenge about the size of sponsorships.

Wait, ‘Everton are at worst the 4th biggest team’?

We really aren’t. Not from a revenue/fan base perspective.

Agreed mate, Id be made up 15 mill myself, we could hold that until the stadium move and hopefully a more consistent European profile, then reassess. I also think its all very interesting that some of these deals seem to be happening since Carlo came in, hes done wonders for our marketability and profile.

Agree completely this market bar is set very very high, 15 million is actually really poor, but reflects years of us being really remedial in this particular market. Nothing to stress about. Be a very good news FFP story in fact, given the nature of the an increase in income.
United and City at over 50m,Chelsea at 40m
Market values have been set already.
Just because other clubs cannot get market value for their product does not mean Everton cannot.
i would be surprised fi it is only 15 m

Fan base, United the RS maybe Spurs/Chelsea yes we are hyperthetically

I think people need to dislocate the idea of what a fan is to actual fans and what a fan is in terms of business.

Commercially, we are nowhere near the top 4 globally. I’d say we are behind liverpool, United, Arsenal, city, Chelsea and spurs in that regard (which from a FPP/sponsorship perspective is all that matters).

The game has changed whether we as fans like it or not. History doesn’t matter commercially.

Hopefully, id be surprised though. if i was negotiating with us as a sponsor i would think of a jump form 9 - 40 mill is huge in the space of a few months, i can see an increase alright i just personally think it will be in around the 15 mill mark. We've traditionally had a poor profile in this market, i just dont see that changing so suddenly and drastically, likely over a period of years and deals. Just my opinion, hope you are right though.

I agree. If we assume this is a move to boost revenues and Usmanov is in any way involved, the figure is likely to be much more than 15m.

USM sponsors our training ground for 12m. He's paid 30m for an option to name Bramley Moore.

In terms of fair market value, the sponsorship of other big clubs has increased in huge jumps in the past decade. There's no reason ours can't take a big jump (other than those same clubs whinging about it). My guess would be at least 20 - 25 million p/a.

The RS maybe!!!!!!

There was a study a few years back and we came 9th behind the liked of Newcastle and Villa for size of fanbase.
This rings true. Experience of living in Leeds for years has shown me very few Evertonians passing through on business or as students and even the local Leeds fans do not regard Everton as a "big" club. There might be respect there, but no acceptance of Everton being near the top table.
