I don't think anyone really thinks Vaughan is better than AJ at present. But his potential is enormous, and unlike many others with "potential", we have seen the evidence. If he can stay injury-free for a full season and get enough playing time, his performances would speak for themselves.

One can only imagine where he would be if he'd not missed those 15 months!

Biggest IF of his life.... hasn't managed it so far and what do they say about injuries on young players?

Yeah, I know - that's what scares me. But his injuries have all been the result of "violent" incidents, not mysterious muscle strains and the like, so it's been truly phenomenal bad luck, which hopefully has now run it's course.

Leon Osman was speaking about Vaughan and his injuries on Soccer AM last saturday anyone watch it?

Well basically he said he only got pushed into the first team late but he kept plucking away and got the performances Davey moyes wanted from him which helped keep him in the starting line up.

I think Vaughan has the potential to be a better striker then Shrek and thats not bias talking I think Vaughan will be the best striker at the club in a couple of seasons time.

Yaks and Faddy are tops for me as they have actually netted a goal.

The thing is though is that yak's goal (and a few of others for that matter) was set up or helped along by AJ so although faddy has scored, we can't afford to lose Johnson's influence on the game.

Yeah, I'm not too concerned as they seem to be freak accidents to different parts of the body. It's not a chronic thing like you see with other guys. He will be a force in a year or two.

I would agree yet in the wonderful world of strikers it is very much a what have you done for me lately world. I have no doubt AJ grades out very well week-in and week-out. His hustle, good touches and shots on goal will keep him on the field for a long time without a goal. I also really like Faddy's influence on the game though, things just seem to happen around him. Add to that his current form and I say he needs to be given chances even if as a super sub.

Whilst strikers are judged on goals (and Johnson has a good goalscoring record) you cannot overlook the contribution to the team, stretching the oppositions defence, creating space and the like.

Johnson excels at this, the goals will come.
