BlueTak

Player Valuation: £35m
22 now, seems like he's been around for ages now. He seems to split opinions on here, some say he just doesn't cut it at this level and some think he has the potential to become a really useful player for us.
I'm firmly a believer that this kid has great ability and is a bit of a rough diamond.

A few years ago I remember him causing all sorts of trouble for opposition defences in europe. He had great strength, great pace and he was quite a decent finisher.
He also looked really good on the right wing in that short spell back from injury at the end of last season.

This clip for me sums up what he can do.

I was such a big fan of him, I even got his name on my shirt.

No doubt that Horror tackle from Nolan has set his progression, as a player back, but now he believe's that his injury problems are behind him and he's ready to get in the 1st team again.

So now that he's back,
Could he solve our right side problems?
Could he solve our striker problems?
Or should we just sell him and get Samaras in?

Either way I look forward to him getting back in 1st team action.

Bring back Thursday nights on Channel 5. He was a frickin beast back then, and did score some pretty ace goals.

I have since kind of forgotten that he could be used a striker. Obviously his contract is running down which is an issue, I'd be gutted him leaving on a free, that's for sure. I'm pretty sure his "so called attitude problems" were down to him just being young and hungry and wanting to play more, rather than wanting mega bucks and champions league football. Would a top 2 of The Yak and Anichebe work? That sounds quite nice without putting too much thought into it.....when is he back to full fitness?

If we do get LD back, and Coleman doing alright on the right too, maybe up front is more the option for Young Vic now?

No....you're right, get Samaras in

I think it's probably the club holding back on offering him a new contract, to see how he does coming back from that injury.

He said on EvertonTV that he was exhausted after about an hour in the reserve game midweek, so maybe the weekend game will come to soon for him.

I'd like to see Coleman pushed back to right back, and Vic on the wing ahead of him, Coleman seems to do better when he gets a chance to run at people from deep. It would also gives us an alternative to Bainaar, which is going to be extremely important if we sell Pienaar in January, even if not we still need a replacement come summer, short of us having a miracle revival and winning everything we can. :P

I'm agreeing with that so much I'm wondering if you're my long lost twin, or something. I've been thinking all the same things.

He's a "solution" to nothing, but he's come on a lot since playing out wide and I really want to see more of him, either as a centre forward or a wide player.

I'd prefer Vic in a striking role as I seem to remember when he played a few games on the right that he really didn't bother tracking back at all. A strike force of the Yak and Big Vic will send shivers down the spine of every Premier League defence.

I just want to see him play to be frank.

He looked ace at the back end of last season. He showed a bit of pace, a barrel load of strength, some smart turning and skill, and ultimately -- something he'd not always been able to boast -- a cracking strike.

He's a very useful player to have, he's very unorthodox and no fullback, unless a centre back is playing there, can handle his strength and power. He's also good at retaining the ball in the final third, and really gives our playmakers a target to play off. Arteta especially, who loves getting the ball into his feet in dangerous positions.

He's not perfect, there are areas of his game that need work, and he could toughen up a bit at times, but he's not as bad as some people would have you believe, and his strengths outweigh his weaknesses.

Give him a go, he needs to play , boost his confidence... Good things could come from him , but is Davey brave enough to give him a run.

Think we already know that answer :dodgy:

To be fair, he got games at the back end of last season. What with the right being our weakest area and all.

If the fod returns though I'm not sure where that would leave Vic.

Personally I'd like to see him have a shot at playing up front.

anichebe doesnt have the technical ability to play right wing.

his crossing is nothing more than 'hit it and hope' so he isnt going to provide much amunition for his teammates.
granted when he has played wide he has been very direct ,coming into the center running at and taking on players . but he doesnt skillfully dribble the ball round players, he is more of a bulldozer straight through them.

he is a cf who should be played in a strike partnership.

(there is only 2 players in the squad i would play at rm , thats pienaar and arteta. coleman is a rb , rodwell is a cdm , osman is a cm, anichebe is a cf. when moyes plays them out of these positions i think it lessens the players best assets and lessens the overall team)
