It’s a wider issue though. Other than richarlison/Pickford maybe , I can’t think of any other player we have signed over the last 5/6 years that’s actually excelled, wanted to stay and made a profit. It’s not because they are all bad players.

How many of them have gone on to prove they are not bad players? We can't go around pointing the finger at bad recruitment and, at the same time, start absolving these players of their obvious, inherent flaws. When Everton start selling players that go on to be superstars for their new clubs, I'll agree with you that the problem is management rather than recruitment.

Lookman is a journeyman. I admire his willingness to try pastures new and he's becoming a proper European by trying his hand in various countries, but if he was that good he'd have been kept at one of his many clubs by now. In the end, he is always moved on.
