all ive had off of them is an email but saw it on another site hat you have to register so i did!
it said i needed a new modem which they will send me but by the looks of it i dont!
worth £2 a month to go from 2mb to 10mb!

just noticed my wireless router says "speeds upto 54mbps" how does this translate to this upgrade ?
is it adequate for a 10mb connection or will it limit my speed ?

When i bought a router i'm sure the guy in the shop said 54mbps meant it could handle that much so an internet connection of 10mbps is easy for it, it could even cope with a big old 50mbps net connection.

it's the fact that one says "mb" and the other "mbps" that is confusing me tbh. wondering if both mean the same.

just done a test, for some reason it tests me against a server in dublin....5.4 mb. if i click change server to one in maidenhead then it gives me 9.5mb.
so wtf, i dont know which one virgin has me connected through.

Thats just the server speedtest uses mate, it won't affect your connection speed

i get different results from the 2 though ?
how do i know what i'm actually getting ?
If one gave you 9.5mb - then thats shows your connection has the capability to reach that speed - so you have been upgraded.
