Looking forward to seeing him, seems to have the right attributes for modern football, not that I think football has changed overly much, we had attacking full backs in the 80s, i think the biggest changes have come on the training side with diet and nutrition and much better facilities to help train or recover.

Doesn't appear to be as many skilful players these days either all about the team, it's a shame exciting footballers have fallen down the pecking order in favour of workrate.

Anybody actually seen him play? I'm excited for some reason about this guy, maybe it's the fact he has experience in big games and such

Nope, although if I'm basing it on YouTube highlights alone I tend to think that Patterson will be the more exciting of the two
They actually seem quite similar from what I've seen. Both like to get forward and join in with the attackers and both often chip in with the odd goal.

Ffs i just posted and deleted that i think he speaks/understands English in the Patterson thread. Not seen any of him except the training vid today.

Just looking forward to have some balance in the team with a true left footed player

I don't think so mate, they had him up on the screen at the Brighton game talking and they had to put up subtitles in English on the screen.
Training vid today had Rafael giving him instructions one to one at the beginning. He didn't have an interpreter with him & looked like he understood what was being said. It may be very basic understanding but if so it's a good starting point.

Im sure he, as an ordinary young Ukrainian, understands 90% of the English he hears when someone speaking with him.
but most of all he will give an interview for the first 3 months with a translator until he gains confidence and adapts to another language. it's not Italian, Spanish or French to worry about, in any case, over time, he will communicate freely.
